“My work stems from an immediate visual impulse—I capture the environment that surrounds and fascinates me at that moment. The criterion for each piece is my personal relationship to the subject. The creative process itself, however, is a moment of reflection for me, when I begin to consciously and subconsciously weave layers of the past into the present moment. I combine different periods of my life, fragments from recent travels, and warm memories into a single whole. In this way, I create visual collages of personal history, in which I capture exclusively pleasant moments and situations. I combine familiar things to create new meanings.
The central theme of my work is the search for balance within striking contrasts. This principle is reflected not only in the content but also in the very form and scale of my works: I move from precise ballpoint pen miniatures to larger-scale drawings, where I combine traditional watercolor painting with the linear detail of the ballpoint pen. I enjoy combining elements that at first glance seem incongruous or strange. I also seek this balance on a thematic level, where I juxtapose humans and nature. I am fascinated by their constant dialogue, the “cat-and-mouse” dynamic, yet at the same time by their deep interdependence and the way they shape and complement each other.
In my work, I respond to immediate impulses from my surroundings, which I then layer and confront with my personal memory, seeking a delicate balance and tension between the human world and nature.”
